How Will U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq View Obama’s Plan to Arm Al-Qaida in Libya?

Soldier Fighting Al Qaida

It has now been extensively reported by European and U.S. news organizations that Barack Hussein Obama is hard at work trying to find wiggle room in the UN resolutions 1970 and 1973 to justify arming the Al-Qaida rebels fighting to oust dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, leader of the Libyan rebels, admitted today to Italian newspaper, Il Sole 24 Ore, that he had earlier fought against ‘the foreign invasion’ in Afghanistan and that  jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.

Could Obama be truly considering supporting the same fundamentalist Islamic Al-Qaida that U.S. soldiers have died fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq?  Apparently, yes.

George W. Bush assured the nation that the commitment of American lives and hundreds of billions of dollars in fighting Al-Qaida strongholds on foreign soil were justified.   Bush insisted that the war efforts were needed to prevent terrorists trained and financed by Al-Qaida from striking America again.

President-to-be Barack Hussein Obama at first promised ending the wars and bringing the troops home in 18 months, but after the election changed his mind.

Two years into his administration Obama, the Commander in Chief, is still leading a growing war effort against Al-Qaida and protecting the borders of those two countries.  Many more hundreds of billions have been spent on war by Obama.  A sympathetic media stopped counting the number of dead and injured in battle since Obama became president and this has taken the pressure off the president to live up to his promises.

There are some who would like to give President Obama the benefit of the doubt, even if on the surface he seems as if he is way over his head on foreign policy.  Having said that, arming Al-Qaida in Libya is so controversial that U.S. arm forces personnel currently at the risk for their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq should be polled for their opinion, one would think.

TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA

  • It Will Be More Dangerous to Drive on Los Angeles Streets Beginning on Friday, March 18, 2011
  • A Change in a Los Angeles Police Department Enforcement Rule Will Allow Thousands of Dangerous Unlicensed Drivers and their Vehicles on City Streets

Los Angeles Police Department rules call for the impounding for 30 days of vehicles stopped in traffic when the driver lacks a valid driver’s license or the vehicle is not registered – for good reason.

This rule will no longer be enforced beginning on Friday, March 18 under pressure from groups representing illegal alien unlicensed drivers, many of which have had no driving education and are unable to read English language road signs or understand audile clues and instructions from law and traffic enforcement officers.

Statistically speaking illegal aliens have no more than 3 years of school education or are illiterate; and most come from poor countries where owning a car is a luxury and learning to drive is therefore unnecessary.

The Los Angeles Times in an article appearing on March 14th quotes Los Angeles Police Chief, Charlie Beck as saying that he will not enforce the rule under pressure from ”immigrant” (illegal alien) advocacy groups that met with him last week.

Pressure has also come from Antonio Villaraigosa (Villar) the mayor, who has proclaimed Los Angeles a sanctuary city where illegal aliens are protected from immigration law enforcement by local law enforcement agencies.  Police Chief Beck was appointed by mayor Villaraigosa and is widely recognized as a loyal public servant.

Spanish Language Road Sign

Spanish Language Road Sign

What does this road sign say in English?

This is what a road sign may look like if we were driving in Mexico and did not know Spanish: Translations, “Reduce Speed – School Zone”

Can we expect non-English speakers or English learners to understand our road signs when we do not understand theirs?

It is illegal for illegal aliens to get a driver’s license in California. Without a driver’s license it is not possible to register a car or obtain car insurance.  The focus of illegal alien advocacy groups is to divert enforcement of the law from areas of high concentration of illegal alien unlicensed drivers to other parts of the city where citizens and legal residents live.  The mayor and the chief of police have been compassionately accommodating.

Under the current change in the rules, it would be advisable for residents to add life and uninsured motorist coverage and or increase the coverage amount. Insurance will not keep us safe, but it will reduce the financial burden of being injured or repairing our vehicles.

The new rules, Police Chief Beck said, are an attempt to mitigate “the current reality, which is that for a vast number of people, who are a valuable asset to our community and who have very limited resources, their ability to live and work in L.A. is severely limited by their immigration status.”

Translation of Chief Beck’s statement: The illegal aliens who live in Los Angeles in violation of immigration laws and who are prohibited from possessing a Social Security number and who therefore do not report their income or pay taxes on their income, are already inconvenienced enough. Chief Beck does not want to add car impounding costs to the hardship they suffer as fugitives of federal immigration laws and the collateral offenses of document and tax fraud – both felonies.

According to the U.S. Justice Department, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide in Los Angeles (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.

A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California are illegal aliens.

Impounding the vehicles of unlicensed illegal alien drivers would cause untold apprehension; if not hardship, to illegal alien criminals as they travel from one crime scene to another.

Just how likely are we to be injured or have our vehicles damaged as we drive through Los Angeles city streets?

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) conservatively estimates that there are
2, 600,000 illegal aliens living in California, most are from Mexico and the balance mostly from Central America.

Figures from DHS and the Census Bureau point to the majority of illegal aliens, or about 2 million, living within a short driving distance from the City of Los Angeles. There are an estimated 762,000 illegal aliens living in Los Angeles. The illegal alien population served by the Los Angeles Unified School District and adjacent school districts is approximately 482,000.

If we drive in or through the City of Los Angeles chances are that a great many vehicles on the streets will be driven by non-English-speaking unlicensed and uninsured drivers and that the cars they drive are unregistered.

This travel advisory is issued for California resident who travel in or through the city of Los Angeles. If at all possible the best defense is not to drive in the city of Los Angeles.
